Flying the Lumina flag at the Manx National Rally!

Manx national rally 2025

This weekend saw the Lumina Surveillance Group supported M-Sport Fiesta Rally-2 car of Mike English and Andy Robinson tear up the lanes in the stunning Isle of Man.  Home to the world famous and legendary TT motorbike races, the Isle of Man also plays host to one of the greatest tarmac rallies in the world, the Manx National Tarmac Rally.

Lumina Surveillance Group’s founding directors Jeff Simm and Mike English are both seasoned rally drivers, this time with Mike in the car and Jeff in an organisational capacity for the event. After weeks of preparation and building the pace notes the week before the event, the weekend saw 150 crews start the rally in anger, battling for honours and for many, simply just to get to the finish of this gruelling event.

With an unexpected mini heat wave, a sunny dry rally had allowed for an incredible pace set by the front runners. Driving as fast as he could, Mike summarised at the end: “We had a wiring loom issue on Fridays stages looking like it would put us out of they rally as we weren’t able to run our spot lights, but the team sorted that in plenty of time.

These lanes are some of the best in the world, it’s been an amazing yet long difficult event but we’ve emerged unscathed and a car full of smiles on every stage!” An overall improvement of his seeding, Mike climbed up 10 places for a solid finish to the week ready to battle once more.

Next up: Another legendary rally, the Jim Clark rally based in Duns and the Scottish borders on May 23rd where the Lumina crew will be attacking the lanes once more!
